Biomedical Campus BSD City has earned GREENSHIP New Building Gold certification, in recognition of its verified environmental performance from planning through operational readiness.

The certificate and plaque were presented by Ir. Ignesjz Kemalawarta, M.B.A., GP., Chairperson of Green Building Council Indonesia, to Erwan Setyawan, Department Head BSD 3. The handover took place on Monday, 9 February 2026, at the VIP Lounge Marketing Office, Sinarmas Land BSD City.

Embedding Sustainability in Research and Healthcare Infrastructure

Through the GREENSHIP New Building framework, GBCI evaluates how new developments address energy use, water management, material selection, indoor environmental quality, and long term building management. The system requires project teams to demonstrate measurable performance across all stages of development.

Biomedical Campus responded to these requirements with a structured sustainability strategy integrated into its design and operational planning.

Developed by Sinar Mas Land within the Digital Hub area, the campus supports research activities and contributes to the development of an integrated healthcare ecosystem that connects education, innovation, and medical services.

The project occupies approximately 11,800 square meters of land, with a total building area of 31,800 square meters. The facility accommodates offices, a smart business center, an experience center, makerspace facilities, and food and beverage areas within a single integrated complex.

Verified Environmental Performance

Biomedical Campus BSD City achieved GREENSHIP New Building Gold certification with a total score of 61 points.

The assessment confirmed performance across key categories, including: appropriate site development, energy efficiency and conservation, water conservation, material resource and life cycle management, indoor health and comfort, and environmental building management. The certification reflects a development approach that aligns operational function with environmental responsibility.

“GREENSHIP New Building provides a measurable standard for how sustainability principles are applied in new developments. Through this certification, GBCI encourages project owners and design teams to adopt accountable resource management and improve environmental quality,” stated Ir. Ignesjz Kemalawarta, M.B.A., GP., Chairperson of Green Building Council Indonesia.

Contributing to Sustainable Urban Growth

GBCI continues to promote GREENSHIP certification as a practical instrument to guide Indonesia’s building sector toward measurable sustainability outcomes. The achievement by Biomedical Campus BSD City demonstrates how research and healthcare facilities can integrate environmental performance into their core development strategy.

By obtaining GREENSHIP New Building Gold certification, Biomedical Campus BSD City strengthens the role of sustainable design within Indonesia’s expanding innovation and healthcare landscape.
