On October 29, 2024, Green Building Council Indonesia (GBC Indonesia) hosted a pivotal gathering with its core and corporate founders at the Sampoerna Strategic Building. Bringing together corporate founders and core founders, the meeting focused on shaping GBC Indonesia’s strategic direction for the years ahead.

This meeting also marked the end of a significant leadership era under Mr. Iwan Prijanto, whose two-term tenure as chairperson (6 years, 2018 - 2024) has been instrumental in strengthening GBC Indonesia’s foundation and expanding its impact on green building practices. His leadership saw milestones that advanced the organization’s influence on sustainable construction in Indonesia.

Several crucial agendas were addressed:

  • Chairperson Report (2021-2024), reviewing GBC Indonesia’s progress and achievements in advancing green building across Indonesia.
  • Supervisors Report, reviewing governance efforts, ensuring transparency and alignment with GBC Indonesia’s mission and core values.

The meeting continued with a review of the organization’s Articles of Association, alongside discussions outlining key activities for the next three years. Founders actively participated, posing questions and sharing insights to support the organization’s growth, focusing on refining strategic goals.

A central part of the event was the election of the new leadership team. Candidates for Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, and Chairperson of the Supervisory Board shared their vision and mission for the 2024-2027 period.

After a majority vote, Mr. Ignesjz Kemalawarta was elected as the Chairperson for the 2024 - 2027 period, Mr. Prasetyoadi was appointed as Vice Chairperson, and Mr. Deddy El-Rashid was appointed as Chair of Supervisory Board.

This meeting underscored the dedication of GBC Indonesia’s core and corporate founders to the organization’s mission. With Mr. Iwan Prijanto’s impactful tenure ending and the election of a new leadership team, GBC Indonesia is poised to further its pioneering role in sustainable building, guiding Indonesia’s built environment towards a more sustainable future.

We extend our best wishes to the newly elected leadership team. Their appointments demonstrate GBC Indonesia’s commitment to strategic leadership and innovation for continued growth and advancement.
