Green Building Council Indonesia officially awarded the GREENSHIP New Building Platinum certification to PT Astra Honda Motor for the achievement of Astra Honda Motor Plant 6 in implementing green building principles from the design stage through operational readiness.

The plaque presentation was conducted by Ir. Ignesjz Kemalawarta, MBA., GP., Chairperson of Green Building Council Indonesia, to Steve Kurniawan, Production, Enginering and Procurement Director, and Rita Prajitno, HR, GA, IT, and SI Director. The ceremony took place on Wednesday, 4 February 2026, at Astra Honda Motor Plant 6, GIIC Industrial Area, Bekasi Regency, West Java.

Strengthening Environmental Performance in the Industrial Sector

The building sector plays a significant role in the management of energy, water, and material resources. Green Building Council Indonesia therefore encourages the adoption of green building principles from the earliest stage of new developments, including industrial facilities, to enable measurable and accountable environmental performance.

GREENSHIP New Building is a certification system developed for new buildings. The assessment covers design, construction, and operational preparedness. The system promotes resource efficiency, indoor air quality, and long term building management as key performance indicators within Indonesia's built environment.

First Manufacturing Facility to Achieve Platinum Rating

Astra Honda Motor Plant 6 is the first non office manufacturing facility to attain GREENSHIP New Building Platinum certification, the highest rating level within the GREENSHIP system. The project also achieved the highest score recorded in the New Building category.

The certification reflects strong performance across multiple assessment categories, including appropriate site development, energy efficiency and conservation, water conservation, material resource management, indoor health and comfort, and environmental building management.
