Jakarta, September 27, 2022 – In journey to achieve Net Zero by 2050, GBC Indonesia is actively collaborating with the government to implement energy-efficient building projects. This initiative includes continuous communication and collaboration with government, supporting programs, and participating in technical meetings. Including a collaboration with Dinas Pendidikan Pemprov DKI Jakarta, where it mainly aims to propose a Net Zero Energy Pilot Project for the redevelopment of schools and government housing, focusing on creating buildings with Net Zero Energy.

Within Dinas Pendidikan Pemprov DKI Jakarta’s strong support for collaborating with GBC Indonesia, on September 27, 2023, the inauguration for the Net Zero Healthy School was held. Showcasing the achievements made possible through this partnership. The celebration recognized schools that have reached this milestone, including SDN Ragunan 08, SDN Duren Sawit 14 Jakarta, SDN Grogol Selatan 09 Jakarta, and SMAN 96 Jakarta. The event was also marked by the presence of Anies Baswedan, the Governor of DKI Jakarta at that time.

This significant milestone can be traced back to January 13, 2021, when GBC Indonesia handed over the "Net Zero Healthy School Building Guidebook" as an additional reference for developing strategies to implement net zero healthy school buildings. Demonstrating this support, Dinas Pendidikan Pemprov DKI Jakarta also received the "Criteria & Basic Requirements for Net Zero Healthy School Buildings" document, which has been instrumental in the redevelopment of schools in Jakarta since 2021

As GBC Indonesia and Dinas Pendidikan Pemprov DKI Jakarta continue their collaboration, they hope to inspire more institutions to adopt sustainable building practices, contributing to Indonesia's goal of achieving Net Zero by 2050.
